Watched English movie 'The sum of all fears'. 

This film is directed by Phil Alden Robinson. Screenplay by Paul Attanasio, Daniel Pyne. Produced by Mace Neufeld. Cinematography John Lindley. Music by Jerry Goldsmith. The film stars Ben Affleck, Morgan Freeman, Liev Schreiber, James Cromwell, Bridget Moynahan, Ciarán Hinds, Bruce McGill, Michael Byrne, Ron Rifkin. The film runs for 2 hour 4 minutes and was released in 2006. I watched it on Netflix on 5th Feb 2022.

An A- bomb that went missing, when an Israeli fighter plane went down years ago, is discovered years later and sold in black market. Jack Ryan, ex marine, CIA analyst is thrust into forefront because of a report that he wrote couple of years ago about Russia has come true. A nuclear war with Russia is eminent. 

Ben Affleck plays Jack Ryan, the analyst. He does not impress. He is a better actor than this performance. Morgan Freeman plays director of CIA who mentored Jack. Cromwell plays American President. The one who impresses most is Hinds as the Russian President. Michael plays a small role but impresses in the last scene. 

Direction is ok. Cinematography is good. Downing of helicopters is shown very well. Cabinet members of American President don't look authentic. 

The movie is based on Tom Clancy novel by same name. I haven't read the novel so can't say how much the screenplay matched the novel.

This movie recovered the production cost 3 times over at box office. It was a commercial success.
